MADS Group Update

Well, we have been very busy at the time of writing this and we have been trying to come up with new ways to enrich our members and give them something new to do.
Recently, we have been getting a little bit arty which is always great to see!
One week we gave our members a chance to work with Emotional Drawing. We asked them to draw something that represents their emotions or a representation of one of their emotions. We always get the odd one or two who always turn around with a laugh saying they can’t draw and that simply isn’t true for anyone. If you can draw a stick-man… You can draw. We always try to make people feel confident about what they can and can’t do but if they feel they would rather just sit and chat with others while having a cup of tea, that’s perfectly fine too.
The week after that we brought in blank CD’S and DVD’s and once again let the imaginations go wild. The main aim was to make a hanging piece that can be hung in a garden or wherever else suitable and we had some really creative and brightly coloured outcomes from this. It’s always lovely to see what everyone can bring to life with their imaginations and we feel this really helps get brains ticking away and those creative juices flowing.
If you have what it takes to come in volunteer your time on Wednesday morning for a crafting workshop for a couple of hours then please do get in touch with us below at:

As always we are looking for donations to the group, and with the Syston Summer Fayre coming up we are needing donations of items for our stall. This can be from unwanted gifts, unused items or items that you want to get rid of that could be of use to someone else. Literally anything. Anything would be appreciated to help us raise money for our group.
