2nd Syston Brownies Visit Their Tulip Tree in Recognition of Their 50th Birthday!
We were very fortunate to be gifted a commemorative tree on Deville Park by Syston Town Council to mark 50 years of 2nd Syston Brownies. We have met every Wednesday during school term time at The Merton School for half a century!
The girls really enjoyed visiting their Tulip tree and having their photo with it to mark the occasion, creating a memory for the history book!
For over 50 years, hundreds of girls have come through our Pack, joining us on fun adventures. We want this tree to celebrate all present and former Brownies, including those that are all grown up now and have fond memories of being a brownie, whether it be a Harry Potter themed pack holiday, a sleepover at the National Space Centre or a campfire with S’mores at Topstones.
20 years ago, Syston Council also gave us our first tree to celebrate our 30th birthday. This tree now stands strong in Central Park, and we often walk the brownies down to show them on one of our chip shop walks.
Brownies are a part of Girlguiding for girls aged between 7-10yrs, we have so much fun completing exciting activities to earn badges, making crafts, playing games, trips out and pack holidays!
We are always welcoming new brownies, and we have spaces for girls to start in September. If you’d like your daughter to be a part of Brownies please visit https://www.girlguiding.org.uk and register your daughter now or if you have any questions please contact us at 2ndsystonbrownies@gmail.com
