Friends of Barkby Road Cemetery

Happy New Year to you all.
A cold and wet and snowy start to the year. The cemetery was so icy at times.
Please be careful when visiting the cemetery.
The Chapel was extremely busy during the Christmas and New Year period. Lots of candles lit and chocolates enjoyed! The fountain is now full of spring bulbs and is once again available for adoption.
The friends of the cemetery will be starting to remove Christmas decorations and wreaths from the 1st of February along with the removal of dead flowers as usual.
The Chapel is now back to its usual opening hours – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from approximately 8.30am in the morning to 3.30pm in the afternoon, Sundays from 9.00am in the morning to 3.30pm in the afternoon.
Posts have had to be put in the front flower beds to stop irresponsible people driving over them.
There are standard roses along the runways which are available for you to dedicate to a loved one, if you would like to do this, please contact Catherine Voyce at Syston Town Council on 0116 260 7150.
Keep safe everyone.
