Age Concern Easter Coffee Morning

On Wednesday 1st April, your editor had the great pleasure of attending Age Concern’s Wednesday coffee morning. This was the last one before Easter so it was special and I was asked along to draw their Easter raffle. There were five prizes and with Jenny Angel holding a large tub containing all the tickets, I drew the winning tickets, with Shirley Gilchrist picture with myself above collected the first prize of £100 on behalf of her granddaughter. This was a lovely morning and each person participating in the coffee morning received an Easter Egg to take home. It was lovely to have time to chat with those having coffee and thank you to Age Concern for inviting myself along. I hope you all enjoyed your Easter.
For those who are not aware of this wonderful Syston Charity.
Age Concern Syston has been here for over 50 years and they would like more of you to come and join them, use them, benefit from knowing them.
They have an office in the Syston Methodist Church Centre, open four mornings a week, with excellent staff to help you solve any problems. If they can’t they will point you in the right direction.
They have a Friday Lunch club every other week for people who find it hard to get out and about. Their Young at Heart group is every Thursday for the more isolated person, who likes a game of dominoes and a warm lunch with others.
Age Concern Syston also have a coffee morning every Wednesday 10am to 11.30am for anyone to pop in for a cuppa and a chat with entertainment, something different every week.
Do go along and try them out or ring 0116 260 1476 for more details.
