Crime Prevention Advice
The dark nights are fast approaching, burglars take advantage of this, here’s some tips to protect your home:
• Ensure all windows and doors are locked when at home or out.
• Install burglary and window alarms.
• Install security lighting at the rear and front of the property.
• Install CCTV
• When going out at night leave a light on, and use a timer if coming home after dark.
• Property marking – use a UV pen, smartwater or register with www.immobilise.com
• Do not leave keys near doors or the letterbox.
• Ensure gates to gardens are locked.
• Fit strong padlocks to sheds and garages.
• Beware of bogus callers, use a spy hole and door chain, or don’t answer the door if you don’t feel comfortable. Always ensure you see and check identification.
