Classic Car Run for Rainbows Children’s Hospice

For the fifth year running local residents Terry Farmer and Vicki Friend with their friend from Anstey, Mick Squire held a Classic Car Run for this great charity.
Once again the day remained dry and there was a decent amount of sunshine.
Thanks to the hospitality of the Hobby Horse Restaurant the run began from their car park. Many participants took advantage of the fact that they could enjoy a great full English Breakfast before receiving their route plans.
The route began through the minor roads with some amazing views of the Leicestershire Countryside to arrive at Wistow Rural Centre for a break. There, many took time to explore the many interesting outlets and the plant centre and took the opportunity to shop! There was also a chance to take refreshments in the restaurant.
The route continued through interesting and windy roads to end up at the Abbey Pumping Station in the city where many people had a picnic lunch.
We are enormously grateful to all the participants who took part, with more cars this year than before, and to our hosts the Hobby Horse Farm, Wistow Rural Centre and Abbey Pumping Station.
As it stands at the moment we will raise over £800!
