Occasions Tea Room

It’s been a busy six months since Emma and Bernie took ownership of Occasions Tearoom.
They have been warmly welcomed into the community of Syston and the surrounding areas. They are amazed at how many new faces they see every day – along with their regular customers, which is fantastic and we thank you. They now have a regular group of mums and babies that use the back room on weekly basis, which is just brilliant.
A lot of their new customers have come in through word of mouth from friends and family and to us that is so special.
Emma and Bernie have had a lot of questions as to their background, so they thought they would officially introduce themselves.
Both Emma and Bernie have come from an admin and management healthcare background and have been best friends for a number of years.
Its always been a dream of theirs to have their own venture and what a perfect place for their dreams to come true. With Emma’s love of baking and Bernie’s ambition to always have her own business putting the two together has formed the perfect business partnership.
A lot of you have noticed the changes in the tearoom (and the exterior!). They are slowly putting their own mark on things to how they want the tearoom to be. They have had numerous compliments on the décor and how light and airy the tearoom now is.
The menu is not just about afternoon tea’s, they offer a wide variety of options, to name but a few – filled baguettes, wraps, paninis, jacket potatoes and lots more all freshly prepared to order. They also offer a takeaway service and outside catering.
The afternoon tea’s come as a Grande, Savoury or Light options, all served on a 3-tier stand. They include homemade scones and cakes. They cater for gluten free and vegan diets and any other dietary requirements.
As from 3rd December our festive afternoon tea will be available every day, as well as homemade festive cakes on the counter.
Many events are planned throughout the rest of the year and these can be found on our website, Facebook and Instagram pages.
Forthcoming events include Afternoon Tea with Elsa (Frozen) on Sunday 24th November and Tarot & Tapas Night on Friday 29th November.
Throughout December there will be wreath making and table arrangement workshops for Christmas. They also have planned a children’s Cupcake Decorating party with food, music and games and a goody bag to take away.
The tearoom is available for private hire for all occasions – baby showers, hen parties, children’s parties.
