Pocket Rocket Pre-School Help to Put a Smile on Residents Faces

Helping others and making a difference is what Pocket Rocket Pre-School in East Goscote has set out to do.

Pocket Rocket Pre-School set up a campaign asking members of the community to donate treats such as toiletries, crisps, sweets, puzzles and books to show the residents of local carehomes that they haven’t been forgotten and to lift their morale as they are missing their loved ones and their families during the government advised lockdown.

Pocket Rocket Pre-School founded and owned by Robyn Hill has strong inter generational links with the local care homes Lingdale and Primrose based in East Goscote and prior to the COVID-19 pandemic children from Pocket Rocket Pre-School regularly visited the residents. Both children and residents thrive from these visits, the children make themselves right at home during their time there and have so much fun that they don’t want to leave.

Unfortunately due to the current pandemic Robyn had to close Pocket Rocket doors for a while, however she continued making a difference to the children and the residents of the Care homes as she has regular interactions through a variety of communications aids. Being in lockdown didn’t stop them being in touch as regular contact is made with Zoom.

Pocket Rocket Pre-School, with the help of the very kind donations received from the local community, so far have already dropped treats off to Lingdale and Primrose care home residents which have certainly put a smile on their faces.

Thank you to all those who have donated a treat so far. If you would like to donate a treat and put a smile on an elderly persons face please contact Robyn at Pocket Rocket Pre-School.

The Pre-School re-opened on 8th June 2020.
