Age Concern Syston

We are continuing to help the local community with delivery of shopping, prescriptions and providing support with any incoming enquiries. We are also offering a befriending service to anyone feeling isolated and lonely and would like a regular chat with one of our friendly volunteers.

None of these services would have been possible without the ongoing support of the many people who have volunteered their time to support the community and help us to deliver these services. We would also like to thank all our trustees, volunteer drivers and members and all who have provided ongoing support to us in the office.

We would also like to thank all those who have provided financial support during such a difficult year. All donations are very much appreciated and can be accepted either by cheque, bank transfer or for anyone wishing to give cash donations can still do so at the office.

Volunteer Befrienders: We are now looking at expanding our telephone befriending service and are looking for further volunteers to fulfil this important role.
We are looking for people who are: Good communicators, Friendly and approachable, Reliable, Patient and understanding, Sensitive.

If you love to chat but are also a good listener and would be able to commit about 1 hour once or twice a week chatting to someone who feels lonely and isolated, and for some could be their only contact during the whole week please contact us.
