Bowls in Full Swing

The bowls season is gathering momentum. St Margaret’s Bowls Club held its annual open days just as the Syston Times News went to press but had already started recruiting new members.
The club Chair, Carolyn Foster said, “The Covid situation seems to have drawn club members closer together. During April and May we organised club events which were incredibly popular and well attended. They acted as a great warm up and an enjoyable way of meeting old friends.
For June, Covid restrictions have been lifted and matches against other clubs are underway. We are also looking forward to our annual bowls tour which is always a popular event and I am pleased to say, generally draws in bowlers from quite a few other local clubs.”
Carolyn added, “Our club has a great reputation for welcoming new bowlers of any ability. We do not charge anyone who wants to give bowls a try, all equipment is provided and experienced coaches are on hand. Please contact myself or John on 0116 267 5947 for further information.”
