Remembering and Having Fun

A few weekends ago you may have seen us at Syston Central Park for the Remembrance service. This was part of a busy weekend, Syston Scout & Guide Band travelled to London to take part in the Lord Mayor’s Show along with the Corp of Drums Society on 13th November. This was a fantastic event to take part in again and great to see it back. The members marching through the streets of London showing the masses of people lining the streets what they could do.

It has been a challenging year but without the help and support of our Young people, parents and not forgetting our leaders hard work delivering a flexible programme we would not have achieved so much.

Our Young people have been awarded an amazing 480 Activity badges and a total of 17 Bronze and silver awards in the past 12 months.
Our Hall has changed over the past 12 months with our brand new toilets, our rear disable access ramp and our ongoing hall storage rooms.
Over the new 12 months we plan to replace our front gate and fencing, invest in new camping and activity equipment.

Plans are under way for the Bands Next Show “Sticks & Tones” in 2022 and lots more fun and vital fundraising to come.
So we are carrying on having fun and learning new skills.

We are always looking for help and support in improving our facilities for our young people, which will help prepare them with skills for life. Is this something you would be able to help with? Please get in touch.
Syston Scouts are always looking for new members and adult volunteers to help make Scouting in Syston great. If you can spare a few hours a week, why not get in touch and help young people develop #SkillsForLife.
