Official Opening of the Refurbished Area of Syston Library
On Thursday 8th September your Editor was invited to attend this event and enjoyed meeting the people there.
Groups of children from St Peter and St Paul who had drawn the original artwork that now decorates the walls were in attendance and thoroughly enjoyed finding their own drawing. To say they were excited is an understatement, but they were all very well behaved and two Children, Sophie and Aaron now in year five were chosen to pose in front of the Wall they created their artwork for, see picture right.
The following list is everyone who has helped to get this fabulous project to its competition:
They are shown in our photo above L-R: Kim Wallis (former Librarian), Clare Milner (Planning Obligations Team), Amar Solanki (Planning Obligations Team),Karen Cox (former Library manager), Varsha Vadher (Planning Obligations Team), Mark Johnson (Planning Obligations Team), Catherine Overton (Community Participation Worker), Emma Simkins (Planning Obligations Team), Carol Neath (Librarian), Mark Newman (Library Supervisor), Adam Dencer (Library Supervisor), Councillor Christine Radford, Emily Warren (Librarian), Karon Cullen (Library Assistant), Franne Wills (Head of Service), Claire Mulhern (Headteacher – St Peter & St Paul CE Academy, Claire Bradshaw (Participation Team), Kate Lister (Library Resources Manager), Louise Sharples (Participation Team).
