Brooksby Gardening Club
In February our speaker Mike Davey gave an excellent presentation on ‘Vegetables for all Seasons’ illustrating many different varieties and with photos of his allotment, he must be there every day.
March saw us back in Queniborough Village Hall where we were able to test the new screen and sound system with David Coop’s subject ‘Plant Breeding’, where he explained the long and arduous process of continuous selection of plants to obtain the characteristics they are aiming for, could be colour, structure, sustainability etc. Greater respect will now be given to every packet of seeds purchased.
Our AGM takes place in May but we have a speaker booked for 8pm that evening, 17th May, Penny Brown ‘Mindfulness Gardening’, you are very welcome to join us.
Enthusiasm for our Day Trips continues, July to Waddesdon Manor, August to the new RHS Garden Bridgewater and in September to Upton House. We do have a few spare spaces on the coach. If you may be interested ask for further information from Madeleine on 0116 260 5539.
