Brooksby Garden Club

Autumn has finally arrived and is being swiftly followed by winter, the leaves are turning and falling, is it later than usual, I seem to remember Bonfire Night with bare trees and frost on the ground but there is still much to see in our gardens, I have cyclamen, dahlias, perovskia – and the bottlebrush has just started flowering again.
At Garden Club we enjoyed hearing of the considerable amount of planning and hard work behind the scenes of ‘Melton in Bloom’ followed a month later with ‘A Day in the Life of a Horticulturalist’, we now look forward to a Fish and Chip Lunch with Post Puds in early December (will Santa visit us, I do hope so) and then we move to Syston Rugby Club for morning sessions in January.
On Wednesday 17th January ‘Royal and Noble ceremonies and flowers’ with the ever popular Caroline Aston and on Wednesday 21st February ‘Trees, underplanting and wildlife’ with Karen Gimson, both lectures open to visitors.
