Friends of Barkby Road Cemetery

Hello everybody, I hope you enjoyed the March chapel displays. There were quite a few of them wasn’t there?
I also hope that you had the best Easter you could.
Well, the weather is mixed at the moment, the trees the flowers and insects etc don’t know what to do.
The winds are being rough and naughty, so I’m sorry if your tributes are not in the correct place. We have done our best to try and put them back where they belong.
Also sorry again that the candle situation is still not resolved. We are initiating dedicating a flower for your loved one, placing it in a bowl as a alternative to, or using the LED lights also.
There is a delay on the acquisition of the letterbox to heaven at the moment, it is now due in August due to high demand.
On 8th June this year from 1.00 to 3.00pm the cemetery are having an open day, not just for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, but for people who just want to have a look at our lovely cemetery. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
The fountain is now available to sponsor in memory of a loved one. If you wish to sponsor it, planting it and weeding it, etc, please contact
Catherine Voyce at Syston Town Council on 0116 264 5972 or email: Catherine@systontowncouncil.gov.uk.
As usual if you would like to donate a rose in memory of a loved one please contact Catherine Voyce at Syston Town Council, the same applies if you would like to hire the chapel.
Have a good month everybody.
