Wreake Valley Rotary Club

We are delighted to announce that our Christmas fundraising activities in December were hugely successful and enabled us to raise in excess of £7,200.00. 
A huge thank you to all our helpers who enabled our small group of Rotarians to achieve such a large amount and of course to everyone who came out to see Santa on his village tours and at our various static appearances at Supermarkets in Thurmaston, Rothley and Mountsorrel and give so generously to our efforts.
We have now drawn up a list of mostly local charities and good causes which will benefit from the monies raised and are currently arranging donations to around 20 recipients totalling in excess of £6,000 A broad representative sample list of donations to these very worthy recipients is shown below.
With Rotary itself being a world wide charity, we support some  International Rotary Charities as well focusing on local charities.
The following are some the charities that we are supporting:
Bark Foundation (Birstall Methodist Church) – supporting children in the Cameroon.
Life Charity (Leicester) – Pregnancy Matters. Supporting women with problems surrounding pregnancy.
(Both of the above charities provided volunteer collectors to help us in our fundraising.)
Life Education – Charity working in local schools providing PSHE advice and support in making good life choices. (Some of our Rotary members are very active in the administration of this charity)
