Brooksby Gardening Club

After our talk last month we certainly know a lot more about the good the bad and the ugly bugs in our gardens, several I had never heard of but still no answer to move the ants from their nests in my lawn or from the doorstep where they have eaten away the cement to gain entry into the house.
On June 26th we will be celebrating our 45th Anniversary with David Wild formerly a lecturer at Brooksby College and long time supporter of our club. Several of our long standing members benefited from his knowledge on amateur gardening courses held at the College, no doubt there will be much talk of past highlights – and expectations of more to come.
Over the summer we are to visit Elton House, Whitehouse Farm, Ingarsby and Burghley House, three diverse gardens to give us inspiration and maybe the desire to dig up our own and start again.
Hope we all have good weather and good conditions whatever we grow, enjoy your own gardens and their harvests, we are all off on the Club holiday on 17th May so more time to enjoy each others company with not fisherman’s tales but gardener’s gossip. Happy summer.
