St Paul’s Court Gardens

On Wednesday 3rd July, your editor was invited to view the gardens at St Paul’s Court which normally enter the Charnwood Borough Council tenants garden competition.
Unfortunately, this year due to the floods which devastated Syston in January most of the residents from the ground flood flats have had to move out and cannot return until their flats are dried out and redecorated, which may not be until next year!
It has meant that their community has been displaced and has left the gardens needing looking after.
However, two ladies living at St Paul’s Court have taken up the challenge to tend the area and are doing their best to keep it looking good under the circumstances.
Jane and Valerie, pictured above, have been weeding, tidying and planting areas either around their own homes or areas where all residents can sit and enjoy the outside. Looking after gardens where the residents have had to relocate.
The following pictures show how well the gardens are looking. Well Done Ladies!
