Team 3G Are off on Their Travels Again for LOROS
As it has not been possible to organise the ‘From Classics to Jazz’ concert this year because of Rachael’s playing commitments in Hull, Maureen and Rachael decided to virtually pedal the ‘North Coast 500’ – 516 miles round the coast of Scotland starting at Inverness and travelling clockwise. They completed their journey with some difficulty due to various health problems on July 19th, the 26th anniversary of when Maureen’s husband Jim passed away in LOROS. It has been a very interesting ‘pedal’ imagining the spectacular scenery they have passed through!
Maureen and Rachael are still hoping to reach their goal of raising £500 for LOROS. Since 2000 with the ‘From Classics to Jazz’ concerts and their virtual journeys during lockdown, they have so far raised over £10,000. They hope that as many people as possible will continue to support them in their fundraising efforts for LOROS, a charity which will always remain close to their hearts. As before, they will leave their JustGiving page open until the end of August for any further donations, and Faith has decided to keep walking and cycling until then to see just how far she can get.
Donations may still be made via their ‘Team 3G’ JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/page/rachael-dixon-1710438134018 or to Syston Town News, 55 Goodes Lane, Syston. (Cheques payable to LOROS please)
