Happy Retirement
On the 13th September Ree Nugent, premises officer at the Syston Community Centre, handed back her keys to Syston Town Council after 22 years opening and closing the community centre for the various groups that hire the rooms each week and weekends.
The various regular groups have appreciated her dedication to her position and said she would go above and beyond her duties to make sure the groups were looked after.
Ree will continue with her dog warden role with Syston Town Council. She is also a Flood Warden, a voluntary role, which she done since 2016. Again in this role she goes above and beyond to help residents stay safe, an example of this was in January while out as flood warden helping other residents, her own home was being flooded. She had to return to her home try to rescue her own belongings! A very stressful time for her, her family and everyone who was flooded.
The community want to say a huge thank you, to you, Ree for going above and beyond in your long service and wish you a happy retirement.
