St Peter and St Paul’s Church News
Joint Service
As is customary when there are five Sundays in a month the congregations of St Hilda’s and St Peter and St Paul’s Churches meet together for worship and fellowship. Sunday 29th September was one such occasion when we met in St Hilda’s Church.
The service was one of thanksgiving for all that we receive and the singing was enthusiastic!
After the service we enjoyed fellowship and a great spread of delicious cakes.
The next combined service will be on Sunday 29th December in St Peter & St Paul’s church in Syston.
Harvest
October 6th St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Syston celebrated their Harvest service.
Most of the hymns were traditional and well known so the singing was joyful and uplifting.
Offerings of tinned and packeted goods were received and will be shared with the food bank.
The church was beautifully decorated as members of the congregation had taken responsibility for various window sills and shelves to fill with their own floral decorations.
An inspiring decoration was made round the font which everyone admired.
Remembrance Sunday 10th November
A quiet Communion Service will be held at 9.30am in the Parish Church
