Syston Methodist Church
It is with the greatest pleasure that Syston Methodist Church welcomes its new minister, the Reverend Kim Alexander who joins us from South Africa and will be sharing her ministerial responsibilities between Syston, Birstall and Rothley. We look forward to getting to know her and for her to get to know us and the wider community of Syston.
Following a successful summer activities, Syston Methodist Church has an interesting calendar of events for autumn and winter in the run up to Christmas.
During the spring and summer, we held a quiz night in March that was well attended and enjoyed by all participating teams and a night of joyful music led by the Ratcliffe Chorale and Loughborough Male Voice Choir. Our usual Easter activities included the Good Friday craft activities for children as well as the celebratory Easter Sunday service. We have held Praise in the Park in April and August, which is open to anyone to join. The annual cream tea followed by Songs of Praise in July was a success and we held our Harvest Festival in September.
The church is not just open for worship on Sundays, there is a range of regular weekly activities that take place.
There is a Holy Communion at 10.00am on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month, everyone is welcome.
There is a Fellowship group that meets alternate Wednesdays and a study group that meets in the church Link building at 10.00am on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.
A coffee morning is held every Saturday from 10.00am to 12.00noon in the Meeting Place at the Hub selling homemade cakes with tea or coffee.
