MADS Update

Yet another month with a lot of things going on. So here’s our recap for you!
First of all, we want to touch on a subject that was very hard hitting to us all at the group.
One of our longest attending members sadly passed away recently. This was very difficult news for us all to receive as they had been coming to our group pretty much since we started. We are so glad we were able to help them before their passing. For obvious reasons we are keeping the identity confidential as we do with all members of the group.
We hope that their family read this as we want to say that they were adored by staff and members alike and really brought a special contribution to the group that no one could replicate. Their personality was beyond anything we could explain and they really were one of a kind. They left a huge impression on the group with their kind heart. The laughs we had were amazing and we will never forget them.
On a cheerier note, Bev, George and Lillie were invited to Second Time Around in Syston and were presented with a donation on March 27th for our group as well as two craft boxes
You’ll find the article from Second Time Around on page 8 in this issue of the Stn as well as the full image they took on the day.
This was wonderful news for our group and it really shows how people in Syston really do see the hard work and effort we put in to make MADS what it is. The support we gain from the community is a huge help to keep us doing what we do for Syston and we really hope that this encourages more people to reach out and make this group better than ever.
Again, we want to thank Tracey at Tesco for their regular donations to help keep our essentials topped up and the group running smoothly.
We couldn’t run this group without the help of these amazing people who donate, come in and talk to the members, or even volunteer a bit of time to help out in sessions. It is greatly appreciated.
We are constantly looking for people to come and visit us and our members. This could range from:
• Mental Health Professionals
• Singers or Performers
• Craft Sessions
• Animal Therapy
• Meditation Sessions
If you know how you can help with any of these or something else to benefit Mental Health then please do get in touch with us below at:
