Leftovers Can Change Lives

At the Second Time Around Syston Community shop, in the Town Square, our community larder offers free essential items for those struggling or in need.
How often have you bought shampoo that doesn’t suit you and thrown it away after one use?
How often have you been given toiletries at Christmas that you’ll never use?
Do you have a kitchen cupboard full of tinned foods that just sit there?
Instead of throwing these items away or letting them expire, why not donate them to our community larder?
The cost of living is hitting some members of our community hard and as a community shop, we think it’s important to offer some free essential items to those who need them.
Recently, our community larder has been used more frequently and as such, we are in need of donations to keep it fully stocked Monday to Saturday from 9.00am until 3pm.
If you are in need or know someone who is struggling then please pop into the shop and see what’s available on the community larder, items are free to take.
As well as physically contributing to our community larder, please know that other donations are greatly appreciated to sell in our shop, such as books, clothing, accessories, bric-a-brac etc also helping to fund the stocking of the community larder.
We really appreciate every donation at Second Time Around Syston Community Shop and are very grateful to those who regularly donate to us.
Your donations go towards helping local members of the community, support groups and local fundraising events so please think of us when you’re having a clear out!
