Report from County Councillor Simon Bradshaw

Dear Residents, hope you are enjoying the warm weather, this has been a very busy month and I have helped a number of residents with various issues, please do get in touch if there is anything I can help with, email given below.
NO TO THE CITY EXPANSION!
Myself along with other Conservative colleagues have written to the Chief Executive of Leicestershire County Council to request an extraordinary Council meeting which will now take place at the end of July.
The order of business will be to consider the following Conservative Group Motion:
A) Leicestershire County Council is opposed to any expansion of the city; and
B) County Councillors will get to have a vote on any final submissions the Reform led County Council will make to government.
If passed, this motion would set the official position of Leicestershire County Council as being opposed to any part of Leicestershire being swallowed up by the city.
Let’s be quite clear on this, I campaigned during the election to stop any expansion of the city boundaries, Syston is a town in its own right, this is what it’s residents told me on the doorstep and this is what I shall fight to keep.
