QT Theatre – Curtain Up!
Happy 2026 — and what better way to kick off the year than by getting ready to pull the Curtain Up!
QT is back from the Christmas break buzzing with excitement as we put the final polish on our Spring/Summer show announcement. If you’ve been keeping an eye on our social media, you’ll already know that our next production is the riotously funny comedy CURTAIN UP!, written by Olivier and Tony Award nominee Peter Quilter.
This fast?paced, feel?good play follows five women who unexpectedly inherit equal shares of a dilapidated old theatre from the late Michael. The unlikely team Pam (Michael’s first wife), Theresa (his daughter), Betty (his mother), Sharon (his wonderfully eccentric PA), and Jackie (his second wife) are thrown together in a chaotic mission to save the theatre from demolition.
Their grand solution? Host a glittering, star?studded fundraising concert.
Their challenge? Well… absolutely everything.
From backstage mishaps to wild schemes and a “mysterious celebrity headliner” they must keep under wraps, the road to opening night is anything but smooth. Packed with sharp dialogue, big personalities, and plenty of heart, Curtain Up! promises an evening of quick wit, lovable chaos, and non?stop laughs. Under the direction of Jo Gallagher, it’s shaping up to be another QT crowd?pleaser.
Auditions for our fabulous cast of leading ladies take place at the end of January, with rehearsals beginning in March and we can’t wait to get back into the rehearsal room.
