Barkby & Beeby WI Report

This month we were taken on a Magic Carpet Ride by Richard Adams, a well travelled photographer. He produced a wonderful variety of photographs in the form of slide shows taken locally as well as pictures of local life and spectacular views from around the world.
He said that his photographs invoked memories of different journeys and periods in his life and went on to show us really close up pictures of insects and birds which showed every detail of their tiny wings etc. There were many pictures of Rutland and Rutland Water with its wildlife, Burma, with its temples and fisherman, Sweden, when he visited the ice hotel and saw and photographed the Northern Lights and concluded with the white horses of the Carmargue. I can highly recommend a visit to his website but to have his commentary with the pictures was much better. A very enjoyable evening.
