Double Awards for Syston Town News
Well what an amazing time we are having. The Syston Town News has won two business awards this year.
The first was the Prestige Award for Best community News Service in the Midlands. Due to Covid-19 they couldn’t hold their evening dinner so Avis and I attended a photo shoot in Birmingham, see picture above.
Then we were selected as a finalist in the Leicestershire Town and County Business Champions 2021, Avis and I travelled to London on Tuesday 13th July to attend a finalist luncheon and to my great surprise We Won!
We still can’t believe it. Such a lovely surprise and award. The photograph was taken at the event. Thank you to all our advertisers, contributors, volunteers, Avis for her support and help in producing the newspaper and you the readers for giving us the support to keep producing this great little paper. We couldn’t do it without the community support and particularly during these last 18 months!
To say we are thrilled is an understatement! The lovely trophy is taking pride of place in the office.
We are so proud of this little paper which is in its 25th year.
Hopefully, with your help we can keep it going for another 25years!
Although not with this editor – I will need to retire before then!!
