Friends of Barkby Road Cemetery
Hello everyone. Well almost halfway through the year. Time flies doesn’t it.
May has been full of bank holidays- hope everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves especially with the historic event of King Charles III Coronation.
A great big thank you to 25 star at Merton after school club for making the crowns for the coronation display.
We have been busy in the waiting room area. New flooring and recycled chairs from the community centre. It looks great now doesn’t it?
Thank you Neil as well who started to Hammerite paint the black parts of the doors.
The cemetery always looks beautiful at this time of year with all the beautiful flowers and trees in bloom.
The downside is that the weeds start to come through now with a vengeance so we are kept busy.
Remember if you want to hire the Chapel (£60) or plant a rose tree or even have a bench then contact Catherine Voyce at Syston Town Council 0116 260 7150.
Don’t forget that on Saturday 3rd June we’re having an open day from 11.00am till 3.00pm with a focus on the Commonwealth War Graves.
Pop along to see us if you have some spare time.
Take care all, love Ros.
