St Peter and St Paul’s Church News

Families @ 4
This month we took the theme of creation. We thought about the best things God has created. We then created our own natural art using things found in the neutral environment around us.
The Bible reading was the story of creation, followed by a song and prayer.
After tea and cake we enjoyed an activity with a parachute recreating the wind and calm, a Mexican wave and lifting high.
On June 9th the next Families @ 4 will have the theme of prayer. Do come along and join in the fun and of course there will be cake!

An Advance Call to Syston. We need your decorated Christmas trees !!!! We have decided to run our Christmas tree festival again. There will be a preview evening for invited guests at a cheese and wine on 6th December.
The main festival will be open Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th, concluding with a songs of praise service at 4pm on Sunday.
Trees to be taken down on Monday 9th December. Please contact me, Wendy at w.hardy147@gmail.com if you want to take part or need further information.
Churches Together
So, Saturday 11th May, sneakily one day early, we launched Christian Aid week as Churches Together in Syston with a tasty coffee morning at the Hub Meeting Place. We offered home-made shortbread blueberry muffins, Bacon cobs and gallons of tea and coffee. The weather was amazing, the outside area was packed and the last three cobs were eagerly received by the plant sellers working in the sun on the High Street. We finished at 12pm, and we raised in the region of £170. This will be added to funds raised in the three church services to help to raise people from poverty across the world.
Well done Syston!
