Syston Library Local Studies Coffee Morning

The Stn joined many residents to see the newly set up Local Studies room after a donation of local history in the form of books, newspaper clipping and photographs of Syston through the years. The library said that the Local Studies room will be open to members of the public when ever the library is staffed, on Monday and Friday 2pm to 5pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 1pm, Saturday 10am to 2pm.
There were lots of photographs on display and lots of chat from people reminiscing times gone by and seeing how Syston has changed over the years.
The library want to thank Margaret Young and her family for donating her late husband Ray’s collection. The family are pleased that the collection will be kept and open to the public.
Hopefully, more of these will be put on so more people can visit and see aspects of the collection and enjoy looking at the history of Syston.
It is a great resource for the public to access.
