St Hilda’s, East Goscote 50th Anniversary Celebrations
On Sunday 2nd February St Hilda’s Church in East Goscote celebrated their 50th Anniversary. Celebrations began the evening before with a fantastic concert given by the Caroline Sharpe singers.
On Sunday morning the Bishop of Leicester, Rt Revd Marytn Snow, pictured above right with members of the congregation and Rev. Ros Harper left, led a joyful service of thanksgiving. The church was full with many friends joining us from other local churches as well as former members of St Hilda’s Church. During the service some of the church members who had been there from the beginning shared their memories of the church being built and of the church’s activities throughout the years. After the service there was a splendid lunch with a celebratory cake. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate. We give thanks to God for his faithfulness over the past 50 years and pray for the years to come.
