Rise Multi Academy Trust Unites 25 Schools for Year 3 Pupil Charter Sports Day

Pupils from 25 primary schools across Leicestershire and South Derbyshire came together for an energetic and joy-filled Year 3 Pupil Charter Sports Day. The event saw hundreds of Year 3 pupils engage in a variety of sporting activities — from timeless classics like tug of war to exciting new challenges — creating a day full of fun, teamwork and friendly competition.
This year, eight Rise Multi Academy Trust schools opened their grounds to host the event, welcoming pupils and staff from neighbouring schools to join them for the festivities. Their warm hospitality and willingness to support others perfectly captured the spirit of community and collaboration that lies at the heart of the Rise ethos. Rise extends a special thank you to these host schools and their staff for their generosity, planning, and support — truly going above and beyond to make the day a success for everyone involved.
The event is a highlight of the Rise Pupil Charter, a unique initiative that outlines key experiences every child should enjoy during their time in school. Designed to enrich education beyond the classroom, the Pupil Charter assigns each year group a different event or project aimed at developing new skills, confidence, and lifelong memories.
This year’s Sports Day not only offered a fantastic opportunity for children to take part in active, healthy fun, but also served as a valuable moment for schools within the trust to connect, collaborate, and celebrate their shared values.
Dave Ellison-Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Rise Multi Academy Trust, commented on the event: “Seeing so many of our schools come together for this special day has been truly inspiring. The Pupil Charter is all about broadening horizons and creating moments that children will remember for years to come. Today was a perfect example of how fun, learning, and community spirit can come together to enable our pupils to flourish and succeed. A huge thank you to all the staff and pupils who made it such a success.”
Rise Multi Academy Trust would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff who helped organise the day and ensured everything ran smoothly, and a big congratulations to all the pupils who participated with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
