MADS Update
Another month gone and we’ve been busy as ever at the MADS Group. We are always trying to think of ideas to give our members something new to do and recently we let them have a go at making various animals with coloured air dry clay. This went down a treat and they all looked incredible when they had finished them. It was a lovely simple thing to do after the heatwave at the end of June. We couldn’t believe how amazing the end results came out and a few of them felt a huge sense of pride in the finished pieces.
If you all remember, an artist from social media called Sophie Tea Art came to Syston and visited Age UK and an article was included in the Stn about the visit. During her visit, We had an item from Age UK drawn on and signed by Sophie Tea, donated to us to raise some funds for our group. We are currently in the process of setting up a raffle for this item and hopefully if we time this right, it will coincide with drawing the results at our stall at the Syston Summer Fayre, on Saturday 30th August. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the start of the raffle. The information for our Facebook is be listed below with our contact details.
We are also looking for donations of bric-a-brac for our stall that will be at the Syston Summer Fayre. If you’re having a clear out and find any unwanted bric-a-brac then please do get in touch with us.
