MADS Group Final Update for 2025
How is it already time for our last article of the year?!
At the MADS Group we have had a somewhat surreal but an amazing year.
March saw us awarded with a donation of £200 and craft supplies from Second Time Around CIC.
In July we gained two new volunteers and they have massively become a part of the MADS Group family.
August was the month of the Syston Summer Fayre (SSF) and we had the biggest amount of donations we’ve ever received including raising over £300, which is the largest amount we have ever raised at the SSF.
In September we celebrated our fifth birthday. Five years of supporting Syston with Mental Health and Loneliness and to be honest we can’t get over the fact of how quick that five years has gone by.
In October we were on the front page of the Stn which excited us all. The first time we’ve ever made front page of the Stn and that feels like such a massive achievement to us all. It was such a proud moment for us and we also received a kind donation of £20. This was due to SKB making a topper for World Mental Health Day and as SKB does not take any money for her creations, the donation was given to us, for which we massively appreciate.
There was some sadness as we lost a very valuable member of our group who had been attending since its inception and she is still greatly missed.
We have also had a few new members join us over the course of 2025.
Now we are starting to prepare for the end of the year. This year our last session and Christmas Party will be on Wednesday 17th December and we won’t return until Wednesday 7th January 2026.
We hope that once we return in January, we will welcome more members and hopefully we can raise even more money in 2026. We are really hoping that the community of Syston can help us achieve higher goals and help us raise that awareness of Mental Health.
