If You Weren’t There You Missed It!
Another great day for a local, not for profit Charity, to showcase what is offered.
On 16th April at Grosvenor Snooker Club our lovely ‘Greeter’ Ladies gave visiting members of the Public detailed information on our 38 diverse groups ranging from Art to Yoga and lots more in-between. A list of suggestions for new groups and future ‘one off’ events also enticed non-members to join the ‘movers and shakers’ (yes we do) of Syston. Whatever you fancy doing, we have other members willing to join in, and Angie will assist you to make it happen. All that is required is for you to become a Member which is currently on offer for £10 until end of July, and then £15 for a full 12 months of fantastic fun, wonderful new friendships and opportunities to try something different, which may become a new passion and we all need a bit of that in our lives. Age is unrestricted and provided working less than full time or not at all, you are more than welcome.
18 organisers of groups were present to share their knowledge and interest with everyone, and 8 other groups were also represented. Unfortunately space restricts all groups being there, but Lyn and Dave Palmer ensured our Open Day was a great success by attracting around 35% of non-member attendees to join. Well done both. Our Group organisers are always happy to chat to those who remain uncertain the U3A is for them.
