Me? Losing It?

Just when you think you know who’s responsible for what a curve ball or two are thrown into the mix. I’ve just read that the LCC are looking for a Climate Resilience Officer to “work with partners to support our communities to be more resilient and to adapt our services in the face of changing weather patterns”. I thought that the LLFA (Leics. Lead Local Flood Authority) based at County Hall and the LLR (Leics. Resilience Forum) were already doing this, let’s hope that the person who is given this challenging task has a practical proactive disposition, maybe works can then be moved on quicker although funding these works will still be a problem.
The second curve ball was to find out that although a piece of brook bank that you would think is the responsibility of the owners given it is next to their property is actually the responsibility of LCC Highways all because it is adjacent to a road bridge! It has to make you laugh, no wonder my brain feels as though it’s spinning or that I’m losing it – although both may be actually true.
Anyway, the flood group are going to be looking to carry on with the works we started last year together with any new areas that raise their heads. If you fancy helping us, fill in the volunteer form on our Facebook page (it should be tagged at the top of the page by now!).
