Thurmaston Bowls Club
What a year 2022 has been for Thurmaston Bowls Club. Despite being the hottest summer for years, we still had the best green on the circuit, thanks to our greenkeepers.
We met some cracking teams playing 41 friendlies …won 21 and lost 20… Thanks to all our captains and players.
The Monday team came second in the NW Leic’s Triples League winning 12 out of 14 games played, only missing out on first place by 11 points.
The Wednesday team came first in the Wymswold League and are promoted to the 1st division in 2023. Winning 16 out of 18 games played, well done teams.
Sadly we said goodbye to two long time members Sootie and Ron.
Happily we said hello to 15 new members.
We raised £650 for Alzheimer Research …. Thank you all.
A Prince became King….The Lionesses bought the European Cup home… But… most importantly… the Ladies Beat the Gents for the first time in eight years.
Thanks to everyone for your support throughout the season. But, now it’s time to hand over the presidency to Dave Winfield for 2023. I wish you all the best and continued success for 2023 season
