Feline Infectious Peritonitis FIP

One of our readers has sent in this information about their beloved kitten who was diagnosed with this terrible disease Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).
They asked if we could include this small piece about it as their kitten was so young when she was taken from them. It is an uncommon and highly infectious disease which derives from a virus in cats called Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) which can be passed from cat to cat through faeces, sometimes from the mother or from being outside.
There is NO treatment to cure, just to make them comfortable. It ravaged her poor body making her blind, unable to use her back legs, not able to eat or drink and basically making her unable to do anything.
It is a very complex disease and our reader feels that maybe more people should be a little bit more aware of it, so they do not have to go through what they are at this sad moment in time.
